The Middle East is a perplexing mess. Muslims fighting Muslims. Jewish and Muslim combatants. Persecution by Muslims of non-Muslim faiths. Non-Middle East countries attempting to influence Middle East politics, economics, and faith. Shifting alliances. It’s murky, to say the least.
